This is 'Bee', our Bernese Mountain Dog. For her, there's nothing better than drinking fresh water from streams in the Black Forest, running through fragrant meadows, or romping in the snow in winter. We don't want your four-legged friend to miss out on this happiness. That's why dogs are very welcome.
FAQs for your holidays with your dog
Are dogs allowed in the holiday apartment?
Yes, one dog per holiday apartment is allowed at the Alte Forsthaus Todtnau. There is an additional charge of €10. Please note that the Hasenhorn holiday apartment is located on the first floor.
Can my dog use the garden?
Of course, you are welcome to play with your dog in the garden. Please be considerate of other guests. Please prevent your dog from relieving itself here. With the beautiful hiking trails in the surrounding area, this will hopefully not be necessary. However, should an accident occur, we are sure you will clean it up immediately.
What services are available for dogs?
A water bowl is available in the garden. This is also the case at many hiking huts in the Black Forest. Please bring your own dog bed, poop bags, and wipes for cleaning your pet. Wet paws must be cleaned upon entering the apartment. Of course, you are welcome to play with your dog in the garden.
Is my dog allowed to stay alone in the apartment?
Dogs may not be left unattended in the apartment for extended periods. Out of consideration for other guests, your dog should always be quiet and not bark. This applies especially at night. Dogs must be house-trained and kept on a leash in the public areas of the building.
Where may my dog sleep?
For hygiene reasons, dogs may only sleep on the floor – and never in the bed, on the sofa, or on a chair. We ask you to observe this point, especially out of consideration for subsequent guests.
What do I, as a dog owner, need to be aware of?
Should your dog damage any items in the vacation apartment, please feel responsible and inform us. In such cases, the pet liability insurance will cover the damage.
